Sophie Rose Bridal Custom-made Wedding Dresses

THE PROCESS

At Sophie Rose Bridal, every wedding dress is sustainably handcrafted in our Hampshire studio, creating timeless heirloom pieces designed to be cherished forever. Each gown is made-to-order based on your specific measurements, ensuring minimal waste - there is no such thing as fast fashion happening here.

The Hampshire studio is where you can find samples of our designs shown on the website. Every appointment is private, in a completely relaxed and comfortable space, where you can try on as many of the samples as you like. Buying a wedding dress can be a difficult decision, but I’m here for every appointment, to support and advise you in making that exciting choice.

I design and make a new collection of dresses each year, building on the styles that have come before, to make sure they all work beautifully together, should you wish to combine one style with another. I use high-quality fabrics, that feel as luxurious to wear as they are to look at, and I’m proud of the comfort and beauty my dresses provide.

As a lover of nature, ethically made wedding dresses are at the heart of what I do. I have started to introduce the use of recycled and ethically made fabrics. Many of the fabrics I now use are made from recycled materials or made from natural waste products – even spilt milk from organic dairy farms has been spun to make one of my fabrics!

When you choose your dream dress, I’ll take your measurements six months before your wedding. I make the gown to your exact specifications and schedule fittings to ensure a perfect fit, minimizing the need for alterations. For some designs, I create a practice bodice, or toile, to perfect the fit before using the final fabric Again, this means making as little tweaks to the finished dress as possible. The final part will be hemming your skirt, which is when you’ll need to choose your wedding shoes.

I’ll always try my best to fit in brides with short lead times, but it is advisable to book your dress at the very least six months before the wedding, so we have plenty of time to allow for your fittings. However, I know this is not always possible and I have been known to make a dress in two and a half months in the past so anything is possible!
